NEW Kinetic Typography Tutorial – Animating Text in After Effects CS6
15Sep
In this tutorial I will show you how to keyframe various text movements in CS6, how to apply “Animate In” presets, and some basics on manipulating the 3D cam…
Astounding! Thank you. I had absolutely no knowledge of the software before this and after watching tens of tutorials this one was the easiest to follow and answered all my question.? Subscribing.
I might have to see an example. I think your problem is coming from a camera being in? the pre-composition, but I can’t be sure. When you pre-compose try only selecting text, not camera layers.
I have multiple lines of text in my video; I pre-composed my first text group to group them, but when I pre-compose the next text group most of it gets cut off. all the text and such that is not visible from the camera starting point is deleted, the camera? still moves to where I want it, but the text gets cut off.
This is the best tutorial I’ve ever seen on youtube! I love it! I have a kinetic typography music? video due as my final for my Concepts in Motion Design class, and I learned more in this 45 minute tutorial than I did in my entire semester of class! Thanks, and keep doing what you’re doing!
The keyframe dots are not appearing for me for the center spiral, there are little black cirlces instead, I can’t move them -? so I cannot make it shorter, help me pleaaasseee 🙂
Perhaps your panel menu is collapsed. There’s a menu item in the panel menu for the Effect Controls that will show the Animation Presets. The menu for any panel is accessible from a button that looks like a triangle (pointing down) with 3 lines to the right of it. You can also try rearranging your windows if the panel is missing. (I think by using Window->Arrange->Strandard
You can also try? searching for the animation presets by name in the search bar.
Thanks for the video.
I have a questions. I don’t have animate in folder under text effect.
I only? have timecode and numbers. and even they are not a folder how can I fix this?
It helps to have a program like photoshop. Photoshop files can be imported into After Effects, as well as png, jpg, etc. The nice thing about Photoshop files is you can have all sorts of layers with transparency. PNG files can be exported from Photoshop with transparency. Also, some PNG? files you find online will have transparency already. The nice thing about images? with transparency is they aren’t just boxes, they can have any shape you want.
? If you have an image on a black background you can change the layer blending mode to screen and it will remove the black (leaving you with the objects in the image).
