If you have a green screen and know how to properly key out the green in the program you’re using, all you need to know is how to light it? and the right angles and you CAN do it. It just takes some thought. Watching videos like these to get the idea down is a good way to learn. 🙂

Because.. They’d have to constantly move the set and, on top of that, deal with people that walk on? the streets.

what is the point of keying? if they can just use real streets and sets. And how they match LIGHTING ??????????????????????? Damn! This is humiliation for me?

It onviously wouldn’t be cheaper to film in the real place. Some have done it (look at Young Indiana Jones). Then what if this is something like Harry Potter and you want to fly around a big castle and up to a person. Its also easier to control the environment around the actors if you only have to film that part once and then the actors as many times as? you want.

To believe that industrial light and magic were the first to use this technology is idiotic.? The government has been using this type of technology since the fake moon landing.

Uh no it wouldn’t. That’s pretty? obvious. Why spend the money to travel when all you need is a big green/blue screen? Duh…

It would also cost a lot more to travel with? a big film crew to the places where you want to film and the props are expensive as well. Sure it takes ages to animate and render all the animation but green screen technology makes movie production more economical. Imagine how much it would cost to blow up a boat several times because the first time it did not look as effective as you wanted it to look?
