The Terminator was a low-budget movie and considering the fact that J.
Cameron did it with only about 6 mil. dollars it had outstanding special
effects, for such amount of money it was a masterpiece !!!?

But a crappy practical effect is still light years better than a crappy CGI
    effect.?

some of these effects might be bad, but id take them over CGI any day of
the week. CGI is needed for some movies of course, but its not a excuse to
use it all the time..We need more movies with old school makeup and
effects..Fans appreciate it more in my opinion.?

I love the animatronic Arnold in Terminator 1. I think a moving human head
could not have been made better at that time. ?

I knew this would make me angry but I watched it anyway. Really only Troll
2 deserves to be on this list, the rest are perfectly decent and really you
noticed the nightmare one was a dummy, the first time you saw it? or was it
only when you rewound it and paused it and such. Also the effects in Street
Trash are awesome and inventive especially for a film of it’s budget and
    age.?

The Terminator movie, The scene where he looked in the mirror and removed
his own eye was terrible!, he looked so fake!, he just didn’t look human at
    all.
His movements were far too mechanical, and his skin looked artificial. He
kinda looked like a robot rather then human.being. The special effects were
    terrible, it just didn’t work?

The Terminator eye scene has no business being on this list. The fact that
there were people out there that couldn’t tell if it was fake or not is a
testament to how good it was. I’m not even bringing the budget argument
here. That head scene is one of the most difficult practical effects to
pull off. It’s a real size head and torso, filmed from very close range,
with extreme detail, properly animated, including the other eye. I dare
anyone to find another movie with a similar effect done better. Saying it’s
one of the worst practical effects is bullshit. Not to mention we’re
    talking Stan Winston here. Stan.fucking.Winston.?

Ses, who wants the charm of practical effects when you can have that shitty
rendered computer look that makes every movie look the same??
