In this tutorial I am trying to get some thing similar to mograph modules in Cinema 4d. With some procedural toolsand animating the key frames we can get some nicer effects. I used cubes here but you can use virtually any objects in Maya to get similar effects. If you know MEL scripting you can get these things very easily. May be more interactive. Any way I am not using any expressions or scripts here. «——————————-¶¶¶—————————–» Visit here for more www.fermicg.com «——————————-¶¶¶—————————–» Want to add some dynamics to this mograph cubes? Part one of this two-part walkthrough shows how to use PFHoe 2.2 to track camera position from a video clip, correct lens distortion and export an After Effects-compatible scene file to create floating 3D titles like the ones in Fringe (and Panic Room). Please note, PFHoe is not included with CS5. Also note that Mocha for After Effects tracks planes in 3D space – it cannot be used to replicate camera movement in 3D space (believe me – I’ve tried!)

there is a system that would work, a society with full transparency..everyone watches everyone else, result, no corruption..we are kind of heading that way, no one can lie because of the Internet now, everything gets leaked to reveal the truth..but governments are making sure that won’t last…the next world wars? will be online

Well normally I would have something to say about this, but I’m on vacation atm. =)? I do believe that no system is better than any other. They all have weak points which greedy men will exploit. Democracy included. I doubt that any system that is run by humans will ever be worthy of existing for longer than a few centuries before it collapses under the weight of its corruption.

I think it is all capitalism..capitalism is a numbers game, he who sells to the most people wins…most people? tend to be average morons (hence why Lady Gaga, Transformers and other mindless products are so popular)…ergo everything is made for average morons and it begins to get worrying..seen any movies recently?

I agree. It’s not so much capitalism, as none of us has actually seen a true free? market.

ok good point..but, why purposefully make something complicated, just to make money? This is why capitalism time and time again has demonstrated that it damages art as artists always have to sell out and create art that will be widely adopted,? rather than creating interesting things…In an advanced race, the UI would be as simple and efficient as possible so everyone can use it…it’s logical

+ ram ( 12 gb above, 1333hz+), 2tb HDD with high RPM. and spend good amount in monitor also.
if you prefer gaming high end processor and a gaming card will give you better performance. But in production it wont. Most 3d and compositing softwares works on OpenGL while game works on Directx.
you can get comparison of processor with gaming speed but never a 3d application level.
I? think there are more techies here, they will give better answer.
    Dont stick with processor only!

Better the graphics card better the work flow. Opt for Nvidia quadro fx series if you really need a production set up.
In my previous studio I worked with AMD AthlonII with 6 core/ over clocked to 3.4 ghz with 6 gb ram+ Nvidia gt card which performed well in rendering and dynamics stimultion than compared to i7+ quadro fx ( old) card.
Buy good graphics card with latest technology, (look for OpenGL, Physyx, OpenCL, Cuda, Shader clock speed, memory ) and manage the rest in Processor+ mother board?

    Dear keyurockz,
I think you already researched about the processors and got confused with these two.
As per my experience you will get better rendering speed on AMD fx 8150 because of high clock? speed and number of cores.
    But I have suggestions,
If you are starting your career then spending huge money on processor is waste, because if you spend 1000 dollars for processor you need to spend equal or greater money for Mother board ( then you will get the real performance).

AMD fx8150 black edition @ 3.8 ghz 8 cores processor or INTEL core i7 2600k @ 3.4 ghz 6 cores. which one is best for animation, vfx , rendering , performance and etc. For which one I should go? for? please suggest. 🙂

It is not in Maya or 3ds’s best interest to simplify their programs. As it is they are the industry standard for this type of work and they are so complex that the average person needs to? go to school to learn them. This pretty much garauntees that the person will primarily use their programs for life as they spent a fortune to go to school and learn them. Now what I’m sayin? Make them easy to learn and some ppl might just learn on their own and not feel as compelled to use them

@viralfunnies thank you for your comment.I agree that Maya is little bit complex compared to Cinema4d. The makers of Maya doesn’t care about the simplicity and functionality. They? always aim at big companies…..

    December 12, 2012 at 6:59 pm

There aren’t any. Would be fairly easy to do if the background was a single plane, but in this case, you’d have to create an entire 3D representation of the objects in frame that you want the shadow to be cast on. Not impossible – you’ve already? got the camera solve – but really, really tricky to get right.

hey thanks for the tut but when I solve for camera motion it won’t let me export the undistorted footage. Im using? pfhoe regular. It has the option but it’s grayed out and it doesnt light up after I solve for camera motion therefore it doesn’t line up in after effects help!!!

Ouch 😉 I haven’t moved to CS6 yet, but it has an in-built camera tracker for jobs? just like this one (so you shouldn’t need to use a third-party solution).

I just made a whole 3 min vid with motion tracking throughout. I used mocha not even realising there was a similar thing which did the same in 3d!? Doh!! I am a complete noob lol

Sorry to have wasted your time. When your busy schedule next allows it, do a quick search for Caps Lock + Shouting. Hopefully, this will help you? in your quest for maturity.

  45. MackEffects

    December 13, 2012 at 3:52 am

No, that is incorrect. Caps are not the equivalent to shouting… The exclamation mark is. Also it would not be demanding if I said “MAY I PLEASE KNOW WHAT CAMERA YOU HAVE? THANKS!” would it?… I don’t know what age you are but considering that you are on youtube making tutorials, you probably are? not making lots of money in your job. Please stop replying to these comments as I am not asking a question and it is a huge waste of my time.

  46. shortformvideos

    December 13, 2012 at 4:19 am

You know why – it’s the equivalent of shouting and it makes you look like? you’re demanding help rather than asking for it. I get an email for every comment, plus they’re highlighted in my YouTube inbox, so it’s pretty rare for me to miss them. And as you’ve just experienced, I’ll respond whether you have caps on or not. Maybe I’m showing my age here, but it doesn’t hurt to be polite.

  47. MackEffects

    December 13, 2012 at 4:43 am

Why caps lock off? People usually don’t see the comments unless they stand out, and I figure it? gives me a 20% advantage because it stands out a bit more than others.
