This has got to be one of the most incredible and beautiful visual effects

CGI is ok…but I appreciate the talents of cameramen more like Billy
Bitzer who had almost nothing to work with except light and a few camera
tricks, yet did amazing work (think Broken Blossoms starring Lillian Gish).?

This is really crazy! I never thought about the background scenes being all
green screen & illusion. I will definitely be watching this movie in a
whole different light now. Like “you know those trees are fake right? Yup.

I think it perfectly captures the book. I have read the darn book three
times in one year, and Luhrmann captures Fitzgerald’s descriptive imagery
so well. ?
