His BGM isn’t bad, but he isn’t the/a “master”. You should here more work from other artists which will help you understand more powerful scores.
One thing, I really don’t like about Harris is his use of synthetic instruments. There are (many) times, where he? tries to make a trumpet sound real, when it clearly isn’t and the end result is quite pathetic. An example, is the trumpet use in Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu.
Like I said, his BGM is good, not amazing.
I will not deny the fact that he has made some really great songs, but I have heard too many pieces of his work which is a little TOO SIMILAR to english tracks…
For example, the main theme of Anniyan. That is? almost exactly the same as John Debney’s work.
He continues to use the same variety of string instruments and the notes lack “richness” which at one point doesn’t prove his strong ability in terms of live orchestration.
is that so??…..is it a copy version??…..i dont think? so……maybe harris is inspired by some english tracks…..but he is master in BGM-especially in surya films like kaakha kaakha,ghajini,varanam ayiram,ayan…many more films…….
But? it is very unoriginal!
awesome title track by harris jeyaraj………..harris is the superstar among music directors……he has that immense ability to raise the standard of a film(by several steps)with his? BGM,right from 1st to last scene……
