they start out sucking but in the end they are? nothing but hot air
… How else would the air get from one side to the other if the main fan blades dont move? If the “high spool” was the only moving parts? then the engine would be only about 25% efficient

i worked in a turbine company here in sonora,mexico i’m a cnc laser operator like 9 month barely knowing how to work with laser machine i? hope with time i will have good ability and knowledge. so i can come and work in the united states.
the force of the fan in the front taking in the air, going through the compressor etc etc, igniting to cause further pressure and force,? forces the fan in the back, to turn an axle that turns the fan in the front to suck in air to continue the whole process.

so correct me if i’m wrong… the jet engine doesn’t need the fan ( blades) to actually move the air from one side to the other, the blades are there to give it extra power and a cycle to start and continue? working

And How after burners work: Extra jet fuel is pumped to the end of the engine,? and is ignited. The expansion of air caused by the burning fuel adds to the engines thrust.

I believe it is a still mystery? for scientists.
On todays large jets, they use high pressure bleed air from the compressor of the aircrafts ”Auxiliary power unit” situated in the tail of the? aircraft. That air is ”Blown” into the high spool area wich is in turn spun up to about 20 to 35 percent of it’s rotation speed. Then fuel is added and ignited and the cycle from there should be self sustaining. If the ”APU” isn’t working, an exterior sourse mat be used. Some aircraft use electric motors to spin up the compressor.
LOL Good question.? I was wondering the same thing. I would guess it doesn’t take much energy to get that blade in front going. What is that power source they use when planes are on the ground, no engines own, but they still have power? Often captains will say the air will get “cooler” when the engine starts. Could that be the power source that starts it?
There are two hamsters on a hamster wheel in each engine that start the rotation. Sometimes? rabbits on 747s.
