I think that the butterfly dragon was just the baby dragon’s? imagination, and the mask let imagination enter the real world. The butterfly dragon showed the little dragon how to make it, and he/she showed it’s parent how to transform into the beautiful dragon.
Moral:? If you believe hard enough, You can do anything.
