I see what you mean. It was almost Verhoeven-esque. But I think they did an admirable job with HR. While some flavor may be lost or rather changed to fit the times, it knew how to juggle with different and often contradictory sources of information or memes, the same way DE1 did with multiple conspiracies: what were the grays? were they? invaders, clones that were a “tabula rasa”, transgenics? There was no clear answer, and so there isn’t in HR with the radio, the e-mails (and their signatures)

What I liked the most about DX was that it was more about campy conspiracy theories than transhumanism. I think? the conspiracy themes are more compelling, really. While transhumanism is a nice theme for a setting it doesn’t really drive the plot forward.

I know i have this fantasy the the deus ex universe and ghost in the shell universe will merge into something big like the that the makers of both the film and the game decide to connect some characters and events to each other,and another thing i find interesting is that the? general theme and atmosphere in deus ex human revolution is mostly inspired from ghost in the shell innocence i mean the whole augmentation industry even the details like thermal optics and A.I. systems seem to match .
