I was not sedated until a few minutes prior to being numbed to receive the
catheter. I wish they had sedated me prior to being rolled into the
operating room, since I have panic attacks and high anxiety about needles
and doctors. Is it possible in a procedure like this to request earlier
sedation? I must say also that needles today are much sharper than they
were when I was a child. I hardly felt the anesthetic needle.

@HALILYILMAZ2010 40, that was the last smoke I ever had. I got pissed off
at the boss a few times and had to be re-stented once.

I’m having this done tomorrow. Strange that this vid says it’s usually done
through the groin, when I was told (in the UK) that it’s most often done in
the arm. The groin is used if the vein in my arm won’t take it.

Having had this proceedure done 3 weekks ago, including the placement of
three stents; I assure you that it isn’t painful, but can be best described
as thoroughly uncomfortable; and by far, less invasive than open heart
surgery. I was home the following morning and now, three weeks on, am able
    to light gardenng.

I have one of these two years ago and I felt the needle go in my groin and
it hurt like hell even though I was messed up I felt it believe me! Had 50%
blockage in one of my arteries… Thursday for another one because I hardly
have any energy, feels like I am going to drop when I do things. I am going
to tell them I better not feel it this time around. And also while they
were in there my arteries stated to spasm and I had chest pains on the
    table.

good info. however, they can also use the brachial artery. myself, i had
one up the femoral, found a 75% block in my lad. fixed with a drug eluting
stent in 03. gonna have a cardiac dye stress test on friday. my dad had a
heart cath through his brachial, he only had 1 artery clear, the rad. he
died 2 weeks later of heart failure. another smoking death and hyperlipidia
in his young and mid life.

Awesome animation on coronary artery angiography. I had this procedure done
and there were no blocked arteries, thankfully. Didn’t feel anything, and
was able to chat with the nurse and watch the dye injected while it was
going on. This is remarkably accurate!
