Just like people (blobs of protein) make love and reproduce, atoms in DNA couple and replicate chromosomes couple and cross over and sperm cells penetrate egg cells to start cell division. See YouTube video “Proteins, DNA and Sex, Simplified”.?

interphase isnt? considered part of the cell cycle.
